Life behind the Curtain…<\/center><\/p>\n

Contemporary Literature Press<\/i> is publishing now a second volume in the series New Europe Writers<\/b>. The first one was the three-language volume Warsaw Tales<\/i>, which the graduate students of the MA Programme for the Translation of the Contemporary Literary Text translated into Romanian. It appeared in English, Romanian and Polish. Bucharest Tales<\/i>, which becomes available to online readers now, was sub-edited, proofread, illustrated and partly translated into English by graduates of the same MA Programme.<\/p>\n

The series New Europe Writers began in 2005, and already has five books: Tales from Warsaw, Prague, Bucharest, Budapest and Ljubljana. It was started by John a’Beckett<\/b> (born in Australia, living in Warsaw), James G. Coon<\/b> (born in the United States, having lived for ten years in Poland, currently located in Bangkok), and Andrew Fincham<\/b>-English poet.<\/p>\n

The aim of New Europe Writers-whose Facebook group totals no less than 700 writers from all over the world!-is to „capture the spirit of a united Europe”. Since our publishing house specializes in Joyce Lexicography, and is therefore highly interested in the European spirit and languages, we befriended NEW instantly.<\/p>\n

John and Andy visited us in Bucharest when they were beginning to put Bucharest Tales<\/i> together. The book we are publishing now is a collection of stories and poems about old and new Bucharest, written by Romanian writers of two generations, and by foreigners who have come to know Romania and its capital.<\/p>\n

The five books NEW has published so far come to support the conviction that Europeans are bound to understand one another and stick together, like one big family. James Joyce himself would have enjoyed these five books „dedicated to the Travelling Reader”, to „life behind the Curtain”, written for a voyeur<\/i> who is eager to peep in.<\/p>\n

Bucharest Tales<\/i>, care poate de azi fi citit\u0103 \u015fi online, a fost tradus\u0103 \u00een limba englez\u0103, dar \u015fi sub-editat\u0103, corectat\u0103 \u015fi ilustrat\u0103 de studen\u021bii aceluia\u015fi MTTLC.<\/p>\n

Seria New Europe Writers a debutat \u00een anul 2005 \u015fi a ajuns la al cincilea volum: Povestiri din Var\u015fovia, Praga, Bucure\u015fti, Budapesta \u015fi Liubliana. Fondatorii acestui proiect sunt John a’Beckett<\/b> (n\u0103scut \u00een Australia, el locuie\u015fte \u00een prezent la Var\u015fovia), James G. Coon<\/b> (n\u0103scut \u00een Statele Unite, a locuit \u00een Polonia timp de zece ani, iar acum se afl\u0103 la Bangkok) \u015fi Andrew Fincham<\/b>-poet englez. Pagina New Europe Writers pe Facebook are peste 700 de membri, scriitori din \u00eentreaga lume.<\/p>\n

Inten\u021bia acestui proiect a fost de la bun \u00eenceput s\u0103 promoveze imaginea unei „Europe unite”. Editura noastr\u0103 este specializat\u0103 \u00een Lexicografie Joyce, ceea ce \u00eenseamn\u0103 implicit c\u0103 vede Europa cum o vedea James Joyce-adic\u0103 unit\u0103 spiritual \u015fi lingvistic. Era firesc, prin urmare, s\u0103 avem foarte multe lucuri \u00een comun cu NEW.<\/p>\n

John \u015fi Andy au vizitat masteranzii MTTLC la Bucure\u015fti atunci c\u00e2nd au \u00eenceput s\u0103 lucreze la Bucharest Tales<\/i>. Masteranzii urmau s\u0103 traduc\u0103 textele scriitorilor rom\u00e2ni \u00een limba englez\u0103-ceea ce au \u015fi f\u0103cut. Cartea pe care Contemporary Literature Press<\/i> o public\u0103 acum este alc\u0103tuit\u0103 din povestiri \u015fi poeme despre noul \u015fi vechiul Bucure\u015fti, scrise de poe\u021bi \u015fi prozatori rom\u00e2ni din dou\u0103 genera\u021bii diferite, precum \u015fi de scriitori din alte \u021b\u0103ri care au c\u0103l\u0103torit ori au tr\u0103it \u00een Rom\u00e2nia.<\/p>\n
