Oglinda mării / The Mirror of the Sea 

— ediţie bilingvă —      de      JOSEPH CONRAD,

trandusă de   Lidia Vianu    (305 pagini, ISBN 978-606-92387-6-9), cu o Introducere de   George Sandulescu.

Volumul este un jurnal liric al romancierului, care, născut în Polonia, s-a făcut marinar la şaisprezece ani, şi care a ajuns să fie considerat cel mai bun stilist al limbii engleze. Conrad îşi mărturiseşte aici  iubirea de o viaţă pentru mare, care a însemnat tot pentru el, de la aventurile luptei fizice cu natura pentru supravieţuire şi anectodele marinăreşti, până la cele mai seducătoare aventuri ale unei inteligenţe prinse, fără ca ea să-şi dea seama, în peripeţiile marii schimbări Moderniste. Volumul a fost publicat în 1906, iar Nota Autorului a fost  adăugată de autor în 1919.

translated by   Lidia Vianu    (305 pages, ISBN 978-606-92387-6-9), with an Introduction by George Sandulescu.

The volume is a lyrical diary of a novelist born in Poland, who became a sailor at sixteen, and who came to be considered be the best stylist of the English language. It confesses Conrad’s long-lasting love affair with the sea, which meant everything to him, from short sailing incidents recounting adventures of the body fighting nature for survival to the most captivating adventures of a mind caught up unawares in the great Modernist change. The book was published in 1906, and the author added a Note in 1919.
